| Genie Babb has a BA in Theater from Baylor University and an MA/ Ph.D. in English from Brown University, and she has been teaching at UAA since 1992. Research interests include science in the Victorian novel; and contemporary drama/performance studies. Her current book project focuses on the mind-body problem in the speculative fiction of H G. Wells. She has also been involved in projects with the UAA Theater and Dance Department, collaborating in 2002 with Brian Jeffery and the UAA Dance Ensemble on Look Again, a series of site-specific performances in Anchorage, Homer, and Fairbanks. An article on the project is forthcoming in TDR: The Drama Review in 2008. She has also published in journals such as Novel: A Forum on Fiction and American Indian Quarterly. Babb teaches courses in the Victorian period, drama, and autobiography, as well as second-year writing, literature surveys, and the occasional class in Scottish lit. |
